Description
Highly Sensitive Presumptive Screening Method
This test enables rapid and highly sensitive detection of semen at dilutions up to 1:500 on a wide range of surfaces. It is suitable for both crime scene applications and laboratory analysis.
Instructions for Use
Transfer the contents of the PurpleTracer Spray reagent vial into the supplied spray bottle and add 25 ml of water. Close the bottle with the atomizer cap and shake thoroughly until the powder is fully dissolved. The spray is then ready for use.

Specificity and Mechanism of Action
The test detects prostatic acid phosphatase (PAP) with increased specificity through the use of inhibitors targeting microbial acid phosphatases, as well as enhancers of prostatic acid phosphatase activity.
An advanced buffering system enables sustained activity of prostatic acid phosphatase as the applied solution dries on absorbent materials such as clothing, bedding, and tissues.
The PURPLETracer formulation contains inhibitors of non-prostatic acid phosphatases, as well as enhancers of the prostatic acid phosphatase reaction. This results in improved sensitivity and specificity. The reagent allows for the detection of semen stains diluted with water at ratios of up to 1:10,000.
PurpleTracer is a water-soluble reagent with a deep amber color. Upon reaction with acid phosphatase, the solution changes color from amber to purple. The initial coloration of the test facilitates the application of an appropriate amount of reagent and helps monitor which areas of the evidentiary material have already been treated.
Due to its high sensitivity, the test is recommended for the identification of aged and highly diluted semen traces, such as vaginal swabs or older stains exposed to environmental conditions.

Clear color reaction
PurpleTracer and SemenTracer are the most sensitive tests available for semen detection in forensic samples.
The test produces a clear color reaction even when semen is diluted up to 1:500 and more in other media, such as water or vaginal swab samples.
This high sensitivity enables reliable detection of semen traces in vaginal specimens and other challenging forensic samples.
